So yeah, I re-installed windows after getting my new hard drive and it tells me i need to enter a W7 professional key when I only have a home premium. How can i resolve this? Thanks!

Solution
If you have an OEM, there may be a problem.

The fastest and most secure way to solve it is to contact Microsoft, have all Product numbers and Keys available. Plus, if your computer runs, have it running.

I repeat myself, the real way is to check with Microsoft, or with your retailer. About keys, we've had a discussion, and kemical's view is worthy to note: http://windowsforum.com/threads/buying-microsoft-keys-online.191161/

Not insinuating anything about Billy Bell's post, but do not "buy a key". The key is free of charge, available to any legitimate Windows OS - they do understand difficulties with installation.

Proper conduct provides proper result.
