I set up a couple of 1tb WD HD's in a raid0 config and partitioned it into 2 chunks. 100gb for windows and whatnot and the rest in another chunk. It sees the 100gb part but wont recognize the rest of it. I can see it on boot and it says its golden but win 7 only sees the smaller partition. I can see the rest of the space when I dig in the system but when and attempt to stripe what left, the option is grayed out and only gives me the option to create a simple volume. Im using an asus p6t deluxe v2. Any help would be appriciated.

Solution
It seems like you're encountering an issue with setting up a RAID 0 configuration on your WD HDs and partitioning them into two chunks, with Windows 7 not recognizing the larger partition. To address this problem and make use of the entire storage capacity, we can follow these steps: 1. Check Disk Management: - Go to Disk Management in Windows to see if the unallocated space is visible. - Right-click on "Computer" or "This PC" and select "Manage." - Navigate to "Disk Management" to view all connected drives and their partitions. 2. Extend Volume: - If the unallocated space is visible, you can try to extend the existing partition that Windows recognizes. - Right-click on the partition you want to extend and see if the "Extend...

- Right-click on the partition you want to extend and see if the "Extend Volume" option is available. If the option is grayed out, it might not be contiguous, which is a requirement for extending a partition. 3. Convert to Dynamic Disk: - If the "Extend Volume" option is not available due to the disk being a basic disk, you may need to convert it to a dynamic disk. - Be cautious as converting a disk from basic to dynamic can lead to data loss. 4. Create a Spanned Volume: - If you want to combine the existing partition and the unallocated space into one large volume (spanned volume), you can create a spanned volume. - A spanned volume combines areas of unallocated space from multiple disks into one logical volume. 5. Backup Data: - Before performing any operations that involve formatting or changing the disk structure, it's crucial to back up all important data from the drives. 6. RAID Configuration: - Verify the RAID configuration in the BIOS to ensure the RAID 0 setup includes both drives and has been initialized correctly. 7. Driver Updates: - Ensure that all drivers for the RAID controller and motherboard are up to date. Sometimes outdated drivers can lead to issues with storage recognition. By following these steps and ensuring that you have backups of your data, you should be able to address the issue with Windows 7 not recognizing the full capacity of the RAID 0 configuration on your WD HDs. If you encounter any specific error messages or challenges during these steps, feel free to provide more details for further assistance.
