hey

I've installed latest RC windows 7. on one computer i have 32-bit version, on other 64- bit. on 32-bit version i have a lot of .pfm (type 1) font. but it doesn't show me all. for example i have a ful futura package, but in indesign cs3 and bsplayer i don't see futura T EE Book. worse is on 64-bit version. there i see NO .pfm fonts. is there a bug or what?? thanks for any help.

another thing... on 32- and 64-bit Vista this font worked, so it's nothing wrong with font.

Hello Marko, It seems like you are facing font display issues on Windows 7, with some Type 1 (.pfm) fonts not showing up in certain applications like InDesign CS3 and BSPlayer. Here are some steps and information that might help resolve this issue:

Font Installation:

  1. 32-bit Windows 7:
    • Ensure that you have installed the Type 1 (.pfm) fonts correctly on the 32-bit version of Windows 7. You can try reinstalling them to make sure they are properly registered with the system.
    []64-bit Windows 7:
    • In a 64-bit system, Type 1 fonts might not work as expected due to compatibility issues.
    • Type 1 fonts are legacy fonts and may not be fully supported on newer operating systems.
    • Consider converting...
Hello Marko, It seems like you are facing font display issues on Windows 7, with some Type 1 (.pfm) fonts not showing up in certain applications like InDesign CS3 and BSPlayer. Here are some steps and information that might help resolve this issue:

    • In a 64-bit system, Type 1 fonts might not work as expected due to compatibility issues.
    • Type 1 fonts are legacy fonts and may not be fully supported on newer operating systems.
    • Consider converting your Type 1 fonts to OpenType (.otf) or TrueType (.ttf) formats, as they are more widely supported.

      Font Troubleshooting:

    [
    ]Missing Fonts:
    • If certain fonts are not showing up in applications, try restarting the applications or the computer to refresh the font cache.
    • Check if the fonts are available and properly installed in the Fonts folder of Windows.
    []Software Compatibility:
    • Older software like InDesign CS3 may have compatibility issues with newer operating systems like Windows 7. Consider updating your software to a newer version that is fully compatible with Windows 7.
    [
    ]Font Formats:
    • Different applications and systems have varying support for font formats. Type 1 fonts may not be fully supported on Windows 7, especially on a 64-bit system.

      Additional Steps:

      • Consider using font management software to manage and troubleshoot font issues.
      • Verify the font licensing to ensure there are no restrictions causing the fonts not to display.
      • Check for any Windows updates or font-related patches that might address such issues.
If the issue persists, you may need to explore alternatives like converting the fonts to a more universally supported format or seeking help from font experts for further troubleshooting. Let me know if you need further assistance or if you have any other questions!
