Older generation users, for whom i offer help locally, have asked this question.. Most are a little old to be dabbling in the Insider program, but, nevertheless!
On the joining page, this comment can be seen.
"Please add our email windowsinsiderprogram@e-mail.microsoft.com to your address book or contacts to make sure our emails get to your inbox."

How would putting the email address into my contacts, help MS to communicate with me?
probably a simple explanation, but I cannot see it.
P.S- Sorry, forgot to add the rider "so that we may contact you" (Or similar!)

Only reason I can think of is that placing the address in your contacts means it shouldn't enter the spam folder?
