Hi, I have serveral times to install and reinstall my Kodak Eastshare 5500 Aio printer on Windows 7 and each time I try printing the program automatically shuts down and restarts. No item is printed. I've also tried installing the printer by right clinking the setup program and going to properties to select running the program in Vista compatibility mode but problem still persists. Is there any solution out there!

It sounds like you're experiencing issues with your Kodak Eastshare 5500 Aio printer on Windows 7 where the program shuts down and restarts when you try to print, without any items being printed.
To troubleshoot and resolve this problem, you can try the following steps:
1. Update Printer Drivers: Ensure that you have the latest drivers for your Kodak printer installed. Outdated or incompatible drivers can often cause printing issues.
2. Check Printer Connectivity: Verify that the printer is properly connected to your computer and is turned on.
3. Restart Print Spooler Service: Sometimes restarting the Print Spooler service can help in resolving printing issues. Here's how you can do it:

- Press Windows Key + R, type services.msc, and hit Enter.
- Locate Print Spooler in the list.
- Right-click on it and select Restart.
- Try printing again.
4. Run Printer Troubleshooter:
- Go to Control Panel > Troubleshooting.
- Under Hardware and Sound, select Use a printer.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to run the troubleshooter.
5. Check for Windows Updates: Make sure your Windows 7 is up to date by installing any pending updates. Sometimes, updates contain fixes for printer-related issues.
6. Clean Printer Spooler: Clearing the print spooler can help in resolving printing problems. Here's how you can do it:
- Open Command Prompt as an administrator.
- Run the following commands:
Code:
     net stop spooler
     del %systemroot%\System32\spool\printers\* /Q /F /S
     net start spooler
7. Disable Antivirus: Temporarily disable your antivirus software as it might be interfering with the printing process.
8. Check Event Viewer: Check the Windows Event Viewer for any error messages related to the printer that might provide more insights into the issue.
If the issue persists after trying these steps, you may need to consider contacting Kodak support for further assistance or look for specific Windows 7 compatibility updates for your printer model.
These steps should help in resolving the printing issue you are facing. Let me know if you need further assistance!
