YouTube users are loving internet moggy Maru, a Japanese cat whose latest web antics see him trying out various hairstyles via a nifty box-based contraption.
In a video tagged simply 'Maru + a hole of the box = funny', the male Scottish Fold is seen sauntering towards the aforementioned receptacle and poking his head through it.
First up for him is a side-parted look, followed by a pink afro, an orange-hued wavy do and a dark bob summed up by one YouTube viewer as 'hilarious... he looked like a gangster or a pimp of some sort'.
The clip has racked up over 300,000 hits on the video-sharing site since it was posted by Maru's anonymous owner last week. The cat even has its own blog and there's also a book available, entitled I Am Maru.
'Maru does not look impressed with his new haircuts,' is the comment left below the video by one viewer.
Others suggest further looks to be tried out by the stylish feline: 'More! We need Rihanna hair, Taylor Swift hair, Snooki hair, Emma Watson hair, Kim Kardashian hair...
'How about a Donald Trump comb over??'
'I vote Afro! There's something about bubblegum pink that just brings out the colour in his eyes,' quips another Maru fan.
'The bobbed hair makes him look like Edna Mode from The Incredibles,' muses another astute viewer, who had us scrambling to our photo library to weigh up the assertion...
