Microsoft 365 Copilot has introduced a suite of enhancements in July 2025, aimed at improving both administrative oversight and user experience. These updates encompass advanced analytics, refined governance tools, and enriched functionalities across various Microsoft 365 applications.
Enhanced Administrative Capabilities
Administrators now have access to a preview of the agent's usage report within the Microsoft 365 admin center. This report provides insights into Microsoft 365 Copilot and Copilot Chat usage, facilitating better monitoring and management of AI interactions. Additionally, new controls have been implemented to set budget thresholds for Copilot usage, complete with configurable alerts to prevent overspending. A notable addition is the Copilot Search experience, which streamlines the search process within the admin center. Furthermore, IT admins can now pin Microsoft 365 Copilot directly to the Windows Taskbar for organizational members, ensuring quicker access to AI tools.
Advanced Analytics and Governance
The Copilot Dashboard has been enhanced to allow administrators to drill down into usage metrics, enabling monitoring and comparison of adoption and impact across direct teams or indirect groups. Organizations can enforce stricter governance through embedded knowledge sources and the application of Purview policies. Purview now offers increased visibility and control over Copilot and other AI agents, ensuring compliance and security.
