Here are steps you can follow to change the display name back to what it was, ensuring that your name is shown when you send emails:
Change the Display Name in Outlook
- Open Outlook: Launch the Microsoft 365 Outlook application.
- Navigate to Account Settings:
- Go to File > Account Settings > Account Settings again.
- Select Your Email Account:
- In the Email tab, select your email account and click on Change.
- Update Your Name:
- In the Change Account window, you should see a field labeled Your Name. This is where you can specify how you want your name to appear to recipients.
- Make sure your name is entered exactly the way you want it to be displayed. For example, enter “José Humberto Pires Paiva” in that field.
- Finish and Restart:
- Click Next, then Finish, and close the Account Settings window. Restart Outlook for the changes to take effect.
Additional Steps for Email Account Settings (if necessary)
If changing the name in Outlook does not resolve the issue, you may need to verify the display name settings directly through the email service (for instance, in Gmail settings if that's your email provider):- Log into Your Email Account (e.g., Gmail, etc.):
- Go to your email provider's account settings.
- Find the Name Display Settings:
- Look for settings related to Send mail as or Profile information. In Gmail, it’s usually found under Settings > Accounts and Import.
- Update Your Display Name:
- Make sure the name you want to display is correctly entered there.
- Save Changes:
- Save any changes made in the email settings.
Final Checks
After completing these steps, send a test email to yourself or a friend to verify that your name appears correctly in the "From" field. If the issue persists or you have further concerns, please let me know, and we can explore additional solutions!
