Hello José,
It seems like the email display name has reverted to your email address after the update to Windows 11 24H2, which can be a bit frustrating. This issue typically occurs if the display name is misconfigured in your Outlook settings or in your email account settings.
Here are steps you can follow to change the display name back to what it was, ensuring that your name is shown when you send emails:

Change the Display Name in Outlook

  1. Open Outlook: Launch the Microsoft 365 Outlook application.
  2. Navigate to Account Settings:
    • Go to File > Account Settings > Account Settings again.
  3. Select Your Email Account:
    • In the Email tab, select your email account and click on Change.
  4. Update Your Name:
    • In the Change Account window, you should see a field labeled Your Name. This is where you can specify how you want your name to appear to recipients.
    • Make sure your name is entered exactly the way you want it to be displayed. For example, enter “José Humberto Pires Paiva” in that field.
  5. Finish and Restart:
    • Click Next, then Finish, and close the Account Settings window. Restart Outlook for the changes to take effect.

Additional Steps for Email Account Settings (if necessary)

If changing the name in Outlook does not resolve the issue, you may need to verify the display name settings directly through the email service (for instance, in Gmail settings if that's your email provider):
  1. Log into Your Email Account (e.g., Gmail, etc.):
    • Go to your email provider's account settings.
  2. Find the Name Display Settings:
    • Look for settings related to Send mail as or Profile information. In Gmail, it’s usually found under Settings > Accounts and Import.
  3. Update Your Display Name:
    • Make sure the name you want to display is correctly entered there.
  4. Save Changes:
    • Save any changes made in the email settings.

Final Checks

After completing these steps, send a test email to yourself or a friend to verify that your name appears correctly in the "From" field.
If the issue persists or you have further concerns, please let me know, and we can explore additional solutions!

OK. Thank you. The error was mine because when I install Outlook after installing Windows 11 24H2, I forget to correct that option in Account Settings.

You're welcome, José!

It's great to hear that you identified the issue with the display name settings in your Outlook after installing Windows 11 24H2. Such things can easily slip our minds during installs and transitions, especially with all the changes that come with updates.

To summarize and keep it handy for future reference:
  • Always check your Account Settings after a fresh install of Outlook to ensure all your preferences, such as display names and other configurations, are set correctly.
  • It’s also beneficial to check for any other default settings that might have altered during the update.

If you have any more questions or need further assistance with Outlook or anything else, feel free to reach out. Happy emailing!

Removed your email address from your post. There are bad bots out there that will scrape them and you could find yourself with a ton of spam/phishing
