Migrating from Server 2003 to Server 2012 Essentials or new install?

We have a small network having downsized some years ago. Currently we have two 2003 servers and 6 workstations. Originally we were running Exchange on one of the servers, but now Exchange is remotely hosted. I have a new server that will be running Essentials. I want to replace both of the old servers and just have the one new server. I am thinking that with such a small network, it will be easier just setting up the new server in a new domain rather than migrating. Does this make sense? Any pitfalls to be aware of?

Thanks,

Mike

For six machines and given that the old system is so far out of date... starting again makes very good sence.

I'd go server12r2 or perhaps even the (free) hyper-v which is the same code because that is the current system with all the new bells and whissles... you may as well be fully up to date after rebuilding a system over.
