Hi,

Recently got mirrors edge and when I load the game and click install - nothing happens at all! Tried using other compatibility such as XP/vista to no avail.

Searching this and various other forums provided no answers. Here are all my specs (wont let me upload or hotlink an image for some reason):

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks..

EDIT: it's an ISO mounted on a virtual drive. Never had this problem with other games though (Modern Warfare/Mass Effect 2/Borderlands)

It seems like you're encountering an issue with installing Mirror's Edge, and the installation process isn't progressing despite clicking the install button. This can be frustrating, especially when you've already tried different compatibility modes without success. Given that you're using an ISO mounted on a virtual drive for the game, and you've successfully run other games like Modern Warfare, Mass Effect 2, and Borderlands without issues, we can focus on specific troubleshooting steps for Mirror's Edge. Here are a few suggestions to help you resolve this installation problem: 1. Check Virtual Drive Software Compatibility: - Ensure that the virtual drive software you're using is fully compatible with the game's installation...

Here are a few suggestions to help you resolve this installation problem: 1. Check Virtual Drive Software Compatibility: - Ensure that the virtual drive software you're using is fully compatible with the game's installation process. Sometimes, certain virtual drives can cause conflicts with specific games. 2. Run the Game Installer as Administrator: - Right-click on the game installer or setup file and choose "Run as administrator." Elevated privileges can sometimes help in bypassing permission-related issues during installation. 3. Disable Antivirus/Firewall: - Temporarily disable your antivirus and firewall before initiating the installation. Sometimes security software can interfere with the installation process. 4. Update Drivers: - Make sure your graphics card drivers, as well as other essential drivers like audio and chipset drivers, are up to date. Outdated drivers can sometimes cause installation problems. 5. Verify Integrity of the Game Files: - If possible, verify the integrity of the game files within the mounted ISO. This ensures that the installation files are not corrupted. 6. Compatibility Mode: - Even though you've tried compatibility modes, you might want to attempt running both the game installer and the game itself in compatibility mode for an older Windows version. 7. Alternative Installation Methods: - Consider extracting the contents of the ISO to a folder on your system and then running the setup file directly instead of relying on the mounted ISO. 8. Community Fixes or Patches: - Look for any community-made fixes, patches, or updates that might address installation issues specific to Mirror's Edge. 9. Virtual Drive Software Updates: - Ensure that your virtual drive software is up to date. Check for any available updates that might resolve compatibility issues. If none of these steps resolve the issue, it's possible that there may be a rare compatibility issue with your system setup and the game. In such cases, reaching out to the game's support or forums specific to Mirror's Edge for further assistance might be beneficial.
