Hi All,

I'm in the process of tweaking my Windows 7 installation on my new build. I want to move the temp folder off my 120 GB SSD and onto my 1 TB Hard Drive. My question is, can I place the TEMP folder within a nested folder and not at root? I don't want to see the TEMP folder every time I open my E: Drive.

So for example, rather than having E:/TEMP can I do something like E:/Wintemp/TEMP without any problems? Thanks

Yes, you can definitely move the Windows TEMP folder to a custom location on your 1 TB hard drive, even within a nested folder structure like E:/Wintemp/TEMP. This process involves changing the environment variables in Windows to point to the new location for the TEMP folder. Here's a general outline of the steps involved in moving the TEMP folder to a custom location: 1. Create the New TEMP Folder: - Create a folder (e.g., "Wintemp") on your E: Drive where you want to relocate the TEMP folder. - Inside the "Wintemp" folder, create another folder named "TEMP" where the temporary files will be stored. 2. Change the TEMP Environment Variable: - Press Windows Key + Pause/Break to open the System window. - Click on...

Restart Your Computer: - Restart your computer to apply the changes. By following these steps, your Windows TEMP folder will be moved to the specified nested location on your E: Drive. This relocation helps prevent clutter at the root of your drive and optimizes the use of your SSD space. If you encounter any issues or need further assistance, feel free to ask!
