I set up 4 different PCs. 1)running Windows 7 2)running Windows 7 3)running Windows XP 4)running Windows XP 64-bit

Now, I can access and login between PCs 1 & 2, I can access and login PCs 1 & 2 from PC 3.

Attempting to login to PC 1 from PC 4 fails but I can access and login PC 2.
I receive an error message "Access denied - error code 0x80070035" when attempting to login to PC 1 from PC 4 without receiving a login / password dialog.

Solution
The error message "Access denied - error code 0x80070035" typically indicates a network-related issue when trying to access shared resources. Here are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially resolve this issue: 1. Network Discovery and File Sharing: - Ensure that Network Discovery and File Sharing are enabled on all computers. - Check if the network type is set to Private or Home network, as Public networks have more restricted sharing settings. 2. Shared Folder Permissions: - Double-check the shared folder permissions on PC 1 to ensure that the appropriate users or groups have access. 3. Firewall Settings: - Disable the firewall temporarily on both PCs to see if the issue is caused by a firewall...
The error message "Access denied - error code 0x80070035" typically indicates a network-related issue when trying to access shared resources. Shared Folder Permissions: - Double-check the shared folder permissions on PC 1 to ensure that the appropriate users or groups have access. 3. Firewall Settings: - Disable the firewall temporarily on both PCs to see if the issue is caused by a firewall blocking the connection. If disabling the firewall resolves the issue, reconfigure it to allow File and Printer Sharing. 4. Workgroup Settings: - Confirm that all PCs are in the same workgroup. To check and change the workgroup: - Go to Control Panel > System > Advanced system settings > Computer Name. - Click on "Change" under "To rename this computer or change its domain or workgroup." - Ensure that all PCs are in the same workgroup. 5. Network Sharing Settings: - Check the advanced sharing settings on all PCs: - Go to Control Panel > Network and Sharing Center > Change advanced sharing settings. - Make sure network discovery, file and printer sharing, and password-protected sharing are turned on. 6. Check User Accounts: - Ensure that the user accounts on PC 1 have the necessary permissions to allow access from PC 4. 7. Credential Manager (if applicable): - If you are prompted for credentials when accessing shared resources, try using the Credential Manager to save the login details. 8. Network Troubleshooter: - Use the Windows Network Troubleshooter to diagnose and fix common network-related issues. This tool can often identify and resolve network problems automatically. By following these steps and ensuring that all network settings are correctly configured, you should be able to resolve the "Access denied - error code 0x80070035" issue and access PC 1 from PC 4 successfully.
