and via neowin: New Windows 10 for PCs cumulative updates are rolling out to Insiders - here's what's new

In less than two days, PC users will be able to manually install the Windows 10 Creators Update with the Update Assistant tool. With such little time to spare, Microsoft has released two new cumulative updates with some last-minute fixes.

For Insiders that are in the Release Preview or Slow rings, you'll find KB4016251, or 15063.13. Naturally, it contains all of the fixes that were included in 15063.11, along with the following:

  • We fixed an issue where printer connections from clients running older versions of Windows (V3-XPS-based-drivers) failed to connect to clients running the Windows 10 Creators Update.

  • We fixed an issue where on some devices like the Surface Pro 3, the Windows audio device graph isolation would max out CPU utilization due to being stuck in an endless loop due to defective Realtek APOs.
In the Fast ring, build 15063.14 is available (KB4016252), which includes everything that you see above, along with one more fix:

  • We fixed an issue where non-suspendable processes would suspend after waking a device.
Of course, if you don't manually install the Creators Update on April 5, the rollout begins on the 11th. At first, it will be available to newer PCs and devices that Microsoft has tested with its OEM partners, and then it will be made available to older devices over the next several months based on feedback.

I'm inquisitive as to the "why" they have two different versions, slow and preview release rings getting (KB4016251)15063.13 versus the fast rings 15063.14(KB4016252).
