Hi,

I was following this tutorial: Group Policy - Apply to a Specific User or Group in order to setup group policy for certain users/groups.

However, when I got to the "Browse for a Group Policy Object" dialogue box, the only tab present was Computers, there is no tab for selecting specific users/groups as described in the tutorial. I have attached a screenshot of the dialogue box in MMC.

Can anyone help me out with this? I am new to local group policy.

Hi,

I noticed that myself but there is no other item called group policy object editor -there is only the group policy.

I have windows 7 ultimate.

I tried that tutorial on my Win 8.1 Pro and there was Group Policy Object Editor as well as Users tab.

Suggestion :
Create another admin account > logon to it > and try the tutorial.

The tutorial asks you to select Group Policy Object Editor.
The screenshot you provided only shows .... Group Policy.
Why is that ?

The tutorial specifies that.....
The Local Group Policy Editor will only be available in:
Vista Business, Ultimate, and Enterprise editions.
Windows 7 Professional, Ultimate, and Enterprise editions
Windows 8/8.1 Pro and Enterprise editions.

Which Win 7 version do you have ?
