I'm running Windows 7 in a Windows 2003 server enviroment and utilizing folder redirection. The folder redirection seems to be working. I get all of my desktop icons, document, ect but when i disconnect from the network they all disappear. I have no errors in the event logs or anything. Any ideas?

It seems like you are facing an issue with folder redirection in your Windows 7 environment, particularly when disconnecting from the network. Here are a few suggestions to troubleshoot and potentially resolve this issue: 1. Offline Files Configuration: - Check the offline files configuration settings on your Windows 7 machine. Offline files allow you to access network files even when not connected to the network. - Ensure that offline files are enabled for the redirected folders. You can configure this through the Sync Center in Control Panel. 2. Folder Redirection Policy: - Review the Group Policy settings for folder redirection. Make sure that the policy is applied correctly and is configured to allow offline access to the redirected folders. - Verify that the policy is set to allow caching of the redirected folders for offline use. 3. Synchronization Settings: - Check the synchronization settings for the redirected folders. Ensure that the folders are set to synchronize for offline use. - Verify the sync schedule and settings to make sure that files are cached locally for offline access. 4. Network Share Accessibility: - Confirm that the network share where the redirected folders are stored is accessible when disconnected from the network. - Test accessing the network share manually to ensure that it can be reached without network connectivity issues. 5. Offline Files Troubleshooting: - If offline files are enabled and configured correctly, but the issue persists, you may need to troubleshoot the offline files feature. - Check for any synchronization errors or conflicts in the Sync Center that may be causing the disappearance of files when disconnected. 6. Permissions and Security: - Ensure that the user account has appropriate permissions to access the redirected folders both online and offline. - Check the security settings on the network share to ensure that users have the necessary access rights. By reviewing and adjusting these settings, you should be able to address the issue of disappearing desktop icons and documents when disconnected from the network. If the problem persists, further troubleshooting may be required to identify the root cause of the issue.
