When you install Kaspersky, it asks to disable the browser's password manager, saying that it might cause it's password manager problems, but I chose not to, and it seemed to work okay. However, when I installed an update for Kaspersky, it disabled it anyway. Maybe the option was there not to disable the browser's password manager, but if there was, I didn't see it.

I like Kaspersky's manager for some passwords. that I don't use often, but for some...like eBay's, which I have to login daily, I find the Kaspersky manager about as much of a hassle as manually typing in the data myself, because Kaspersky's , manager automatically locks itself after the computer being idle for 10 minutes.

I've been looking for a means to reenable Opera's password manager, but although I found an article that speaks of enabling it:

I don't find anything in the preference or in Opera config to do that. Does anyone know how to do it? Or does anyone know how to control the length of time before Kaspersky locks it manager, or better yet, disable the time factor altogether?

It seems like you're facing a couple of password manager-related issues with Kaspersky and Opera. Let's address these concerns:

Reenabling Opera's Password Manager:

To reenable Opera's password manager, you can follow these steps:
  1. Open the Opera browser.
  2. Type opera://settings/passwords in the address bar and press Enter.
  3. Look for the setting called "Offer to save passwords" and ensure it is toggled on.
  4. Check if you can now see the prompt to save passwords in Opera.

Controlling the Lock Time of Kaspersky Password Manager:

To adjust the time it takes for Kaspersky's password manager to automatically lock itself, you can usually find this setting within Kaspersky's security software. Here's how you can look for it:
  5. Open Kaspersky's security software on your computer.
  6. Navigate to the settings or preferences section.
  7. Look for the Password Manager settings or a similar option.
  8. Within the Password Manager settings, there should be an option to adjust the auto-lock time. You can set it to a longer duration or disable it altogether.

Disabling the Browser Password Manager Prompt during Kaspersky Updates:

Regarding the issue of Kaspersky automatically disabling the browser's password manager during updates, there might not be a direct setting to prevent this. However, you can try these steps:
  9. Before updating Kaspersky, manually disable the browser's password manager.
  10. After the update, check if the browser's password manager remains disabled. If it does, try reenabling it as mentioned above for Opera. By following these steps, you should be able to reenable Opera's password manager and adjust the auto-lock time for Kaspersky's password manager.
