This new app is minimal but well-designed, with all the features you need to keep up with what’s going on in the world. LeadStory has advanced personalization and customization features to bring you the stories that interest you the most and a helpful Live Tile that displays the latest top story.

Why we love it: Need a plumber, tax pro, babysitter, or other service provider? Finding the right person for the job can get a bit messy, and no one wants to spend their time sifting through reviews from strangers. Well, the problem has been solved. Home Team lets you find out who your friends trust for hire and share your own favorite recommendations. The free app from Microsoft Garage also lets you import contact details for all of your current service professionals. For more information on Home Team, check out our announcement post here.

Ulster Bank

What is it: a mobile banking app

Why we love it: We’ve been seeing many new mobile banking apps join the Windows Phone Store each week, and each one makes us smile. This week one of Ireland’s major banks, Ulster Bank, released its own app. Features include the usual handy banking help, such as the ability to get cash from your account without using your debit card, bill paying, money transfer, balance check, a branch and cash machine locator, and more.
