I bought a new Nook HD 9" Tablet for my wife, so she can read and watch movies.
We have some of the newer BluRay movies with Digital Copies, she says her friend claims that the DRM protected movies cannot be moved to tablet or other devices. Then what can I do to play these movies?

Solution
First of all, transfer digital copy to local computer.

Then, convert transferred movies either in .m4v or .wmv formats to device friendly format like .mp4.

Last but not least, put converted files to your tablet.
Going off what other people say is what gets a lot of us in trouble in the first place. I would check the Nook company and see what their web site has to say if any thing at all about the subject. Then I would send a technical support ticket asking if this can be done and what instructions are involved with this.
