While I was moving from 7 to 10 yesterday the city power failed to our building. When power was restored I attempted to begin from scratch with the setup tool. Now when I select either 'upgrade this pc' or attempt the iso download option it fails with a simple 'Something happened' message. OK. I know that. Any recommendation(s) on how to reset a failed upgrade process? Maybe someone else out there has had to do this for a hang, crash or whatever while in midstream.

Try running the Disk Cleanup tool and try the upgrade again. Access hidden folders on your c: drive. You will see a hidden folder called $Windows.~WS. Delete this folder and start again. It contains the installation media and setup from the Media Creation tool.

Thanks Mike. Both $Windows.~WS and $Windows.~BT folders in the root of C: needed to be deleted. Once cleared everything went great from there.
