I'm not sure why it is doing this but when I try to start Windows Media Center I can't access the screen. I try switching between screens and can see that the program is running but I can't use it. Also when I am playing a game and try to switch between the game and desktop with alt + tab or win + tab it kind of freezes and changes the resolution of the game screen to default. If anyone can help me fix this problem I would greatly appreciate it.

It seems like you're experiencing issues with Windows Media Center and game resolution switching on your system. Let's address these problems step by step:

Windows Media Center Issue:

Windows Media Center Issue:

When you're unable to access the screen of Windows Media Center even though the program is running, it could be due to issues with display settings, graphics drivers, or conflicts with other programs. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can try:
  1. Update Graphics Drivers: Ensure that your graphics drivers are up to date. Outdated drivers can cause display-related issues.
  2. Check Display Settings: Verify that your display settings are configured correctly. Sometimes, incorrect settings can lead to display problems.
  3. Check for Conflicting Programs: Certain other programs might be interfering with Windows Media Center. Try closing unnecessary programs and see if that helps.
  4. Run Windows Media Center Troubleshooter: Windows has built-in troubleshooting tools that can help diagnose and fix issues with Windows Media Center.

    Game Resolution Switching Issue:

When your game freezes or changes resolution to default when switching between the game and desktop using alt + tab or win + tab, it indicates a compatibility problem or a conflict between the game and the system. Here's what you can do:
  5. Run Games in Windowed Mode: Switch your game to run in windowed mode instead of full-screen. This can sometimes prevent resolution issues when switching between the game and desktop.
  6. Check Game Settings: See if there are any specific settings within the game related to resolution or alt + tab behavior that could be causing the problem.
  7. Update Game and Graphics Drivers: Make sure your game is up to date along with your graphics drivers. Compatibility issues might be resolved with updates.
  8. Disable Full-Screen Optimization: In Windows 10, you can try disabling full-screen optimizations for the game. Right-click on the game's shortcut, go to properties, compatibility tab, and check 'Disable fullscreen optimizations'.
  9. Check for Background Processes: Ensure no other background processes are affecting the game's performance. By following these steps, you can troubleshoot and hopefully resolve the issues you're facing with Windows Media Center and game resolution switching. If the problems persist, feel free to provide more details for further assistance.
