I recently installed Windows 7 home premium. Since the installation, when the computer sets idle for any length of time, the screen goes to user logon. I have tried everthing to remove this, but no luck. I tried unchecking the logon on resume box in personalization but it won't let me uncheck the box (box is checked). Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance

It seems like you are facing an issue where your Windows 7 Home Premium computer is automatically going to the user logon screen when it remains idle for a certain period of time. This behavior can be due to settings related to screen timeout, power management, or user account settings. Here are a few steps you can try to resolve this issue:
  1. Check Screen Saver Settings:
    • Go to the Control Panel.
    • Click on "Appearance and Personalization" and then on "Change screen saver" under the Personalization section.
    • Make sure that the "On resume, display logon screen" checkbox is unchecked. If it's checked, uncheck it and click "Apply" and then "OK".
    []Adjust Power Options:

    ]User Account Control Settings:
    • Type "netplwiz" in the Start menu search box and press Enter.
    • Uncheck the box that says "Users must enter a user name and password to use this computer" if it is checked.
    • Click on "Apply" and enter your account password if prompted.
  2. Registry Edit (Advanced):
    • Press Windows Key + R to open the Run dialog box.
    • Type "regedit" and press Enter to open the Registry Editor.
    • Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System.
    • Look for a value named " dontdisplaylastusername". If it doesn't exist, right-click in the right pane, select New > DWORD Value, and name it that.
    • Double-click on dontdisplaylastusername and set its value to 0.
    • Restart your computer for the changes to take effect. Try these steps and see if they resolve the issue with the screen going to the user logon screen when your computer is idle. Let me know if you need further assistance!
