It seems like you're experiencing persistent issues with File Explorer crashing, particularly when interacting with certain folders or files. This could be due to corrupted files, folder settings, or conflicts with third-party software. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the File Explorer crashing issue: 1. Check for Disk Errors: - Run a disk check to scan for and fix any errors on your disk. This can help ensure there are no underlying disk issues causing File Explorer problems. 2. Clear Thumbnail Cache: - Thumbnail cache corruption can sometimes lead to File Explorer issues, particularly with specific folders. Clearing the thumbnail cache might help. You can do this by going to Disk Cleanup, selecting 'Thumbnails,' and clearing the cache. 3. Run System File Checker (SFC): - Use the System File Checker tool to scan and repair corrupted system files that may be affecting File Explorer. Open a command prompt as an administrator and run sfc /scannow. 4. Check and Repair File System: - You can also check and repair the file system using the chkdsk command. Open a command prompt as an administrator and run chkdsk /f /r on the affected drive. 5. Remove Recently Installed Programs: - If the issue started after installing specific software, try uninstalling or updating those programs. Sometimes, incompatible software can cause conflicts with File Explorer. 6. Update Windows and Drivers: - Make sure your Windows installation is up to date with the latest updates. Also, update graphics card drivers and other relevant drivers to ensure compatibility. 7. Perform a Clean Boot: - Try performing a clean boot to start Windows with minimal drivers and startup programs loaded. This can help identify if a third-party application is causing the crash. If the issue persists after trying these steps, further investigation may be needed to pinpoint the exact cause of the File Explorer crashes. Feel free to provide more details or error messages if you need additional assistance.
