Amy Jade Winehouse (14 September 1983 – 23 July 2011) was an English singer-songwriter, known for her powerful contralto vocals and her eclectic mix of musical genres including R&B, soul, and jazz. She received extensive publicity over her substance abuse and mental health issues.

As of July 23rd, at her home in London; police have said that the cause of her death was "as yet unexplained."

Winehouse had won 5 Grammy's during her career. She was only 27 years old.

She recently left rehab for a European concert tour. Winehouse cancelled the concert after being booed off stage.
