I have 2 all-in-one units connected via network, to 3 computers running Built 7057 64bit..
Samsung CLX-3175 - The 64bit printer drivers install well. The Scanner drivers and utility won't install.
HP3310 - Same story. The Scanner utility won't install.

I can access the scanners via their IP address and scan on line... but I cannot access the either computer from the scanners themselves.

any ideas?

  1. Compatibility Mode: Try installing the scanner drivers and utilities in compatibility mode. Right-click on the installation file, select Properties, go to the Compatibility tab, and choose an earlier version of Windows (e.g., Windows Vista or XP). Then, run the installation as an administrator.
  2. Driver Updates: Check the manufacturer's website for updated scanner drivers that are compatible with Windows 7 64-bit Build 7057.
  3. Firewall and Antivirus: Temporarily disable your firewall and antivirus software to ensure they are not blocking the installation process.
  4. Network Settings: Make sure the network settings on both the scanners and computers are correctly configured. Check if they are on the same subnet and can communicate with each other.
  5. IP Configuration: Verify that the IP addresses assigned to the scanners are within the same range as the computers. Ensure that there are no IP conflicts.
  6. Network Discovery: Enable network discovery on the Windows computers to allow the scanners to identify and connect to them.
  7. Scanner Configuration: Check the settings on the scanners to ensure that they are set up to communicate with the computers on the network.
  8. Scanner Manual: Refer to the user manual of your scanners for any specific troubleshooting steps related to network connectivity and computer access.

    Additional Tips:

    • Remote Support: Consider contacting the support teams of Samsung and HP for assistance with installing the scanner drivers and utilities.
    • Third-Party Scanning Software: You can also try using third-party scanning software that supports network scanning to access the scanners from your computers.
By following these steps and tips, you should be able to resolve the issues you are experiencing with installing the scanner drivers and utilities and accessing the computers from the scanners.
