when running windows 7 search directly from the start menu in the bottom left of the screen I can't make search find any fonts. I would expect search to search the entire computer when running it from that position, but that does not seem to be the case. Why is that? Does search only search the Documents folder when running it from the start menu?

When using the search feature in Windows 7 from the Start menu, the search scope is limited based on the search settings configured in the system. By default, the search feature in Windows 7 focuses on specific libraries and folders rather than searching the entire computer. This default behavior can make it seem like the search is only looking in certain locations like the Documents folder.

To address the issue of not being able to find fonts or to expand the search scope to include the entire computer, you can adjust the search settings to include additional locations such as the Fonts folder or other directories where fonts are stored. This way, the search feature will look beyond just the default locations and search the entire computer for the specified files.

Here's how you can change the search settings in Windows 7 to include additional locations:

1. Open the Start menu and type "Indexing Options" in the search box.
2. Click on "Indexing Options" in the search results to open the Indexing Options window.
3. In the Indexing Options window, click on the "Modify" button.
4. In the Indexed Locations window, check the box next to the drive or folder that contains the fonts you want to include in the search.
5. Click "OK" to save the changes.

By adding the desired locations to the index, Windows 7 will search those locations when you use the search feature from the Start menu, allowing you to find fonts or other files stored in those locations.

After making these changes, you should be able to search for fonts or any other files on your computer using the search feature in Windows 7 from the Start menu.
