Maybe the price of gas was just too high for this suspected car thief.

A woman was arrested Friday morning after the car she allegedly stole from a Seattle dealership ran out of gas.

An officer spotted the car being driven erratically around 105th Street and Aurora Avenue North around 7 a.m., Seattle Police said. The officer tried to pull the driver over, but the car took off. The officer backed off and did not pursue the car.

The Washington State Patrol spotted the car parked along Interstate 90 about an hour later, where the suspect was throwing rocks at it.

Seattle Police arrested the woman, who allegedly admitted to stealing the car from a Ballard neighborhood dealership. She said she intended to drive it to Chicago, but ran out of gas, police said.

The 45-year-old woman is booked into the King County Jail for investigation of auto theft and eluding.
