Hello,

My computer, which is running Windows 7 64 bit Ultimate has been experiencing random crashes, sometimes while on Youtube, sometimes while watching a video on VLC media player, PowerDVD while playing blu-rays and even occasionally on games. I have tried manually uninstalling my graphics card and then using Phyxion's driver sweeper to remove all trace of the drivers and then re-installed the GPU. However, the problem persists.

I am wondering what to try next and hoping for some input from you guys. I have uploaded all the minidumps my computer has made in a .rar attachment. Any help would be greatly appreciated as this is very frustrating.

Solution
Marvell Thor - search in the downloads for your motherboard.

Speedfan and Bitdefender - just uninstall them for now.

If doesn't work, reinstall the system. Keep in mind it's 124, means uncorrectable. Important to set the clocks right.
Stop 0x124, uncorrectable hardware error.
0x124_AuthenticAMD_PROCESSOR_BUS_PRV

1. No overheating
2. No overclocking
3. Set all hardware clocks in strict accordance with the manufacturer's
4. Bios upgrade might help

Hello,

Sorry for posting in the incorrect area.

I have updated my BIOS, but the problem persists, I have since stopped overclocking but the problem persists, even when say on YouTube with overclocking switched off on catalyst control centre. Heat shouldn't be the issue as I have speedfan mainting hardware at low temperatures.

Are you asking about CPU overclocking? As that is not overclocked either. I did try running AMD Overdrive but the gains seemed minimal for the risks so I am not using it.

Don't worry about posting in the "wrong area", moderators will sort it out.

me said:
3. Set all hardware clocks in strict accordance with the manufacturer's

Reinstall the OS. If still getting 0x124, check your hardware - motherboard, RAM sticks, PSU.

Uninstall Bitdefender.

Uninstall Speedfan.

Mini Kernel Dump does not contain unloaded driver list

OK I will reinstall OS sometime soon.

What is wrong with BitDefender and SpeedFan?

Also what is Marvel Thor?

Graeme

Marvell Thor - search in the downloads for your motherboard.

Speedfan and Bitdefender - just uninstall them for now.

If doesn't work, reinstall the system. Keep in mind it's 124, means uncorrectable. Important to set the clocks right.

Ok will do that search thanks.

Sorry I'm a bit noobish about some things but do you mean the error "124" is uncorrectable? Not sure what you mean. The CPU clock hasn't been adjusted by me so I'm not sure why it would be wrong. Thanks for your help btw.

Ok found Marvell driver, I will update now.

Ok I have followed your suggestions, I used Bit Defender removal tool and then reinstalled it (except for reinstalling Windows, hoping a new crashdump will have more info as its the one after doing what you said?) however it has still crashed while playing a video. Where are minidumps saved by default? So I can upload it. Thanks,

Graeme

They are in C:\Windows\Minidump.

Run prime95 to try out the system for stability under load. Watch the temperatures, don't let them go beyond critical.

Losing my mind with this lol! OK so I followed the above steps and did not succeed so I reinstalled Windows. VLC media player seems to no longer crash (yay) but it crashes on YouTube and when I try to play Blu Rays (I'm now using Corel WinDVD 2010 instead of PowerDVD). Anyway I've attached mini-dumps please help, I really don't know what to doLink Removed!

Help is greatly appreciated.
