Windows 7 Serious Update Problems

In a few weeks time a kind of 'SP2' will be available, basically a roll up of all the updates since SP1. I've checked the page and there is a 300mb update available which may help?

Thanks very much for that. I'll try that approach as the Update hasn't offered me any updates so far today. The 300Mb should not be a problem.

By any chance are you missing the indication that some updates require a shut down to install them?
If so there would be a sort of large exclamation point over the word "shut down" on the Start Menu.

Noooo ... I don't as yet have any updates to install ! It offered unspecified updates Sunday (Monday?) but accepting took me to Control Panel>Update. No updates were shown as available there. Search for Updates did not succeed in finding anything up to 12 hours later.

I'll try the Rollup W7 update detailed by Kemical above.
