Hello
We are trying to get a computer with OP Windows XP to share files on a computer with OP Windows 7
This worked yesterday, then this morning it suddenly stopped working
It keeps coming up with errors, like 'cannot connect to this drive'
I have tried suggestions from many other posts - i.e. checking share settings, sharing to Everyone etc, etc
Can someone help please? As we need access to these files URGENTLY!
Thanks
Louise

    ]Shared Folder Permissions:
    • Verify that the shared folders on both computers have appropriate permissions set.
    • Make sure that the folders are shared with "Everyone."
    []User Account Control:
    • Check if User Account Control (UAC) settings are interrupting the connection. Try turning them off temporarily.
    [
    ]Guest Account:
    • Ensure that the Guest account is enabled or create a new account with appropriate permissions for sharing.
    []Check IP Addresses:
    • Verify that both computers have unique IP addresses and are on the same subnet.
    [
    ]Restart Services:
    • Restart the "Server" service on both Windows XP and Windows 7 machines.
  2. Drive Mapping:
    • Try mapping the network drive again:
      • On Windows 7, use "Map Network Drive" to connect to the Windows XP share.
      • Ensure to use the correct IP address or hostname. Please go through these steps to troubleshoot the file sharing issue between Windows XP and Windows 7. If the issue persists, let me know so we can explore further solutions.
