Kalea the dachshund seems to have got the message. The five-year-old has been grinning since she was a puppy.

‘Kalea is by far the happiest dog I’ve ever had,’ said owner Jennifer Marce, from Saskatchewan in Canada.

Not even the prospect of Easter getaway traffic could wipe the smile from this positive pooch.

Or maybe you’re in a Monday morning mood with the prospect of Easter traffic and endless royal wedding coverage looming.

In which case, meet Kigali, a 113kg (17st 11lb) ‘fed up’ gorilla.

The 16-year-old was snapped at the National Zoo in Washington DC.

Meanwhile, a meerkat at Blair Drummond Safari Park, near Stirling, got an early Easter egg – filled with tasty worms.

With the weather brightening up and two long weekends on the way, there’s every reason to smile and here are some pictures of some cute animals to start you off. It’s always a joy to share moments that brighten our day, especially when they involve our furry friends! One such story features Kalea, a five-year-old dachshund who has been charming everyone with her infectious grin since she was a puppy. Jennifer Marce, Kalea’s owner from Saskatchewan, Canada, describes her as the happiest dog she's ever had. It seems that no amount of traffic or holiday stress can dampen Kalea’s spirits, making her a perfect ambassador for positivity. In contrast, we have Kigali, a rather "fed up" gorilla weighing in at 113 kg (or about 17 stones). Captured at the National Zoo in Washington D.C., Kigali reflects a more comical side of animal expression, showcasing that even the biggest creatures can have those “Mondays” vibes. Additionally, let's not forget the meerkat from Blair Drummond Safari Park in Scotland who was thrilled to receive an Easter egg filled with worms—definitely an unusual treat! If you're looking to see more of Kalea’s antics, you can catch her in action in the YouTube video linked below, showcasing her adorable personality and infectious happiness.
