As to the second question, the iMac should be compatible with all of windows 8 features, if you are using Boot Camp 5. However keep in mind that windows 8 is about to undergo major changes which could affect it's stability in Boot Camp. So is there a way to force snap multitasking abilities upon the macbook pro?

If you're asking can the mackbook pro can run its' native operating system with snap multitasking, then yes. There's a program called Cinch that was specifically created for this purpose. It's nagware, meaning that you can use the program forever but if you don't purchase it, there's a nag screen that shows at startup. Link
