{ SOLVED } Can I get pictures on the preview pane?

I am sure at one time I could see the picture in both the navigation pane and the preview pane of windows explorer.
Now all I get with jpgs, pngs etc is an icon with a pair of blue mountains on a blue background with a moon in the sky?
Is there any way of getting the pictures back?

Job done, I had Always show icons, never thumbnails, turned off in file explorer options.
