I want to use the start bar with small icons, however if i have it at the top in particular i get left with this "Shadow" from the full bar version as can be seen here:

Link Removed due to 404 Error

If i then move the bar from the top to one of the sides the shadow stays there and gives an upside down "L" Shape.
How on earth can i stop this from happening?

To address the issue with the "shadow" remaining on the screen when you switch the taskbar from the top to the side in Windows, you can try the following steps to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the problem:

### Method 1: Restart Windows Explorer
1. Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open Task Manager.
2. In the "Processes" tab, right-click on "Windows Explorer" and select "Restart."

### Method 2: Disable Transparency Effects
1. Right-click on an empty space on your desktop and select "Personalize."
2. In the Settings window, go to "Colors" in the left pane.
3. Turn off "Transparency effects."

### Method 3: Update Graphics Drivers
1. Press Win + X and select "Device Manager."
2. Expand the "Display adapters" section.
3. Right-click on your graphics card and select "Update driver."

### Method 4: Reset the Taskbar
1. Right-click on an empty space on the taskbar.
2. Go to "Taskbar settings."
3. Find and click on "Turn system icons on or off."
4. Toggle the "Windows Explorer" option off and back on.

### Method 5: Check Theme Settings
1. Right-click on an empty space on your desktop and select "Personalize."
2. Choose a different theme from the list and see if the issue persists.

### Method 6: Check for Windows Updates
1. Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update.
2. Click on "Check for updates" and install any pending updates.

After trying these methods, check if the issue with the persistent shadow on the taskbar is resolved. If the problem persists, feel free to provide more details for further assistance.
