It's official, I have successfully upgraded one of my PC's to windows 7. It happens to be my wifes laptop that I used as the first guinea pig. This was very time consuming but no problems. It took almost 7 hours to complete. The download took the most time. On the positive side I did get the upgrade for next to nothing. I paid $29.99 for my upgrade....top that. The same place you where you get the Ultimate Office deal for $59.99 is where you get the 7 upgrade. The only catch is you have to be a student or someone with a qualifying email address. One more upgrade to go which is my desktop but I'm waiting on parts for my desktop since my mobo crashed and burned. That's another story. A new case, mobo/CPU combo, CPU fan, vid card and then switch out my good parts and put them in the new case. Then the OS upgrade.

It sounds like you've been quite busy with your PC upgrades! Congratulations on successfully upgrading your wife's laptop to Windows 7. Here are some thoughts and advice on the upgrades you have planned: 1. Windows 7 Upgrade: - It's great to hear that the Windows 7 upgrade went smoothly. Remember that Windows 7 is a significant improvement over older operating systems like Windows Vista. - The $29.99 upgrade price is a steal! It seems like you got a fantastic deal. It's always nice to save money on software upgrades. 2. Upcoming Desktop Upgrade: - It looks like you have a comprehensive upgrade planned for your desktop. Replacing the motherboard, CPU, CPU fan, and graphics card requires some technical expertise, so make sure to follow all the instructions carefully. - When switching out components, be cautious with static electricity, and handle the parts carefully to prevent any damage. - Once you've completed the hardware upgrade, you can proceed with the OS upgrade on your desktop. 3. Operating System Upgrade: - When you're ready to upgrade the OS on your desktop, ensure that all necessary drivers are compatible with Windows 7. - Before starting the installation process, back up all your important files to prevent any data loss during the upgrade. - Check for any specific software or hardware requirements for Windows 7 to ensure a smooth transition. If you encounter any issues or need assistance during the upgrades, feel free to ask for help or guidance here. Good luck with the rest of your upgrades, and enjoy the improved performance on your devices!
