Windows Vista Trouble Burning CDs: Seeking Help with Movie and Music Files

when ever i try to burn movies or music or any files to a cd it does not work and i have a cd burner and all the stuff needed but it still wont work so if you guys could plz drop some hints that would be greatly apreciated thanks
