It seems like you're encountering an issue with your Ad-hoc network setup where one laptop can share its internet connection successfully, but the other laptop is unable to connect to it. This can be frustrating, but there are some troubleshooting steps you can try to resolve this problem. Here are some steps you can take:

Troubleshooting Steps:

  1. Check Network Settings:
    • Ensure that the Ad-hoc network settings on both laptops match. Verify the network name, security settings, and password (if applicable).
    []Update Drivers:
    • Check if the network drivers on both laptops are up to date. Outdated drivers can sometimes cause connectivity issues.

    ]Disable and Re-enable Ad-hoc Network:
    • Disable the Ad-hoc network on both laptops, wait for a few seconds, and then re-enable it to see if the connection can be established.
    []Reset Network Settings:
    • Reset network settings on the laptop that is unable to connect. This can help in clearing any conflicting configurations.
    [
    ]Firewall and Security Software:
    • Temporarily disable the firewall and any security software to check if they are blocking the connection.
    []Check for IP Address Conflict:
    • Ensure that both laptops have unique IP addresses on the network to avoid conflicts.
    [
    ]Run Network Troubleshooter:
    • Use the built-in Windows Network Troubleshooter to diagnose and fix common network problems.
  2. Check for Windows Updates:
    • Make sure both laptops have the latest Windows updates installed. Sometimes, updates can resolve connectivity issues.

      Additional Information:

      • USB Modem Compatibility: Check if the USB modem you are using is compatible with Ad-hoc networking.
      • Router Mode: Consider setting up a Virtual Router on your primary laptop to share the connection instead of using Ad-hoc mode.
If you try these steps and still face issues, let me know so we can further troubleshoot the problem.
