I have searched the applications store on Fedora 17 for codecs, VLC player and all existing music players but found nothing?
The thing which i found was a line that states that "Fedora no longer supports mp3 technology as it is third party issue & have conflicts with open source licences".

Solution
You can install Rythmbox, Amorak, Audacious, or a number of other alternatives.
Some will play mp3 right out of the box, while others may require additional codecs. For a listing of the more popular choices go to: Link Removed
