Windows 7 Usb Flash Drive

i have a 8 gig flash drive ..ive used it before but now it wont even let me format it..it says write protection..

What's the make/model of the flash drive...I'm assuming it's a standard thumb-drive?

there's no brand name on it..its just a regular thumb drive

Then look for a slide lock on the side of it.
