When you encounter issues with the login screen user account pictures not showing and it behaves like a Windows NT style login with only the option to enter a username and password, it can be due to various reasons. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially resolve this issue:

Fixing User Account Pictures Not Showing Issue:

  1. Check User Account Settings:
    • Go to "Settings" > "Accounts" > "Your Info" and check if the option for "Show account details (e.g. email address) on sign-in screen" is enabled.
    []Update Display Drivers:
    • Outdated or corrupted display drivers can sometimes cause display issues. Update your display drivers to the latest version.

    ]Reset User Account Picture:
    • Try resetting the user account picture. Go to "Settings" > "Accounts" > "Your Info" and select "Create your picture" to choose a new picture.
    []Check Group Policy Settings:
    • Group Policy settings might be affecting the display of user account pictures. Check for any policies that restrict this feature.
    [
    ]Run System File Checker (SFC):
    • Open Command Prompt as an administrator and run the command sfc /scannow to scan and repair system files.

      Restoring User Selection of Accounts:

    []Switch to Standard Logon Screen:
    • To enable the selection of different user accounts at the login screen, you may need to switch from the classic logon screen to the modern one. You can change this in the Registry Editor.
    [
    ]Modify Registry Settings:
    • Open Registry Editor (regedit) and navigate to:
      Code:
       HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Authentication\LogonUI
Look for a DWORD value named "ShowAutoCompleteSignInForm" and set it to 0.

      Additional Steps:

      • Restart your computer after making any changes to see if the issue is resolved.
      • Ensure that your system is up to date with the latest Windows updates.
If the issue persists after trying these steps, please provide more details about your system configuration, Windows version, and any recent changes that might have triggered this problem for further assistance.
