Why does Win 7 Home Premium 64 bit have SQL Server 2005 and MS Visual C++ ? Are these required, or can I delete them? Same question for the Windows Live Sync as well.
Thanks!

Deleting SQL Server will certainly not ruin your laptop – it’s only an application. Assuming you are not making use of any databases created by it (either directly or as part of a web server), you should be able to do without it just fine (although I would run it beforehand first and back up any databases that happen to be there just in case.)

As far as the MS Visual C++ it is probably not a good idea to remove these run time software packages. Some Windows software will require these files to operate correctly.

I hope this helps!
