I want to upgrade my HP desktop (i7 920 CPU, 6MB DDR3 RAM, 400 GB hard drive space) with existing Vista Home Premium OS to Win 7 Professional. Unfortunately, the Win 7 Pro upgrade software that I bought is not the right upgrade path --- apparently it will only permit an upgrade from Vista Business. I would like to avoid a clean install of Win 7 which requires a disk format and loss of all data. If the software vendor will not replace the Win 7 Pro software with the "Anytime Upgrade" software, what are my alternatives, if any. Any advice and/or guidance will be gratefully appreciated.
