Windows 7 Win XP to Win 7

Just got a laptop to replace old HP tower system that was 32bit. New laptop has Win 7 and is 64bit. I would like to transfer all data on the old pc onto the new laptop. Can someone explain please if this is possible and if so how to go about it...Thanks
