Hi All,

to give background on the situation we have corporate images for our dell latitude e6420-6440 laptops. When imaging the 6420-6430 computers with out corporate image we have noticed some imaged computers are having a delayed logon screen on startup or the startup screen is not appearing at all.

I have ran the diagnostics and it shows no hard drive issues on the computers that are being imaged. I ran AV against the machine to make sure no viruses are on the computer. I have also ran the computer in safe mode and did a system restore, along with running the repair disc against the image. Nothing is working.... If anyone has any insight on how to fix this or resolve this that would be much appreciated

It seems like you're encountering issues with delayed logon screens or startup problems on Dell Latitude E6420 and E6430 laptops after imaging them with your corporate image. Since you've already tried several troubleshooting steps without success, here are a few additional suggestions that might help you resolve the problem: 1. Update Drivers and Firmware: - Ensure that all drivers and firmware on the laptops are updated to the latest versions. Sometimes driver issues can cause startup delays. 2. Check Group Policies: - Verify if any group policies are affecting the login process. Sometimes, group policies can cause delays in the login process. 3. Event Viewer Logs: - Check the Event Viewer logs for any error messages...

Check Group Policies: - Verify if any group policies are affecting the login process. Sometimes, group policies can cause delays in the login process. 3. Event Viewer Logs: - Check the Event Viewer logs for any error messages or warnings that might provide more insight into what's causing the delay. 4. Disable Startup Programs: - Disable unnecessary startup programs or services that might be causing delays during boot. 5. System File Checker (SFC) and DISM Scan: - Run the System File Checker tool (SFC) and Deployment Image Servicing and Management (DISM) tool to check and repair the system files. 6. Check Network Configuration: - If the laptops are connected to a network during startup, network-related issues could be causing delays. Verify network settings and connectivity. 7. BIOS Update: - Ensure that the BIOS on these laptops is updated to the latest version. BIOS updates can sometimes improve system stability and performance. By following these additional steps, you may be able to identify the root cause of the startup delays or login screen issues after imaging your Dell laptops. If the problem persists, you might consider reaching out to Dell support for further assistance, especially if the laptops are still under warranty.
