Hello WindowsForum.com members, Exciting news for Windows Insiders! Microsoft has just released Windows 11 Build 22000.917 (KB5016691) to the Release Preview Channel. Aimed at enhancing performance and security, this non-security update brings a wide range of quality improvements.

  • Microsoft Edge in IE Mode: Fix for a known issue causing Microsoft Edge to stop responding and prevent interaction with dialogs when using IE mode.
  • Virtualized Office Applications: Addressed issues preventing virtualized App-V Microsoft Office applications from opening or causing them to stop working.
  • Windows Hello for Business: Fixes the certificate deployment failure in certain conditions after device resets.
  • USB Printing: Resolved multiple USB printing issues, including malfunctioning post-restart and
    incorrect mode after switching drivers.
  • Miracast: Fixed an issue affecting the ProjectionManager.StartProjectingAsync API, which prevented certain locales from connecting to Miracast Sinks.
  • BitLocker: Addressed performance degradation problems with BitLocker.
  • Windows 11 SE: Restored trust for specific Microsoft Store applications.
  • HyperVisor Code Integrity: Now automatically enabled on systems with Arm64 processors.
  • Non-Windows Device Authentication: Fixed authentication issues for non-Windows devices connecting to a Windows-based remote desktop via smart cards.
  • Resultant Set of Policy Tool: Solved issues where the tool stops working when processing over 1,000 "File System" security settings.
  • Take a Test App: Resolved an issue where closing the app removed
    all lockdown enforcement policies.
  • Settings App on Domain Controllers: Fixed issues causing the Settings app to stop working on server domain controllers when accessing the "Privacy > Activity history" page.
  • Bluetooth Audio: Solved issues with Bluetooth audio headsets where playback stopped after a progress bar adjustment, specifically affecting systems that support A2DP offload.
  • Windows Update Drivers: Fixed issues preventing devices from receiving driver extension updates when the extension driver is already installed without the base driver.
  • LSASS on Active Directory: Addressed a race condition resulting in LSASS crashes on Active Directory domain controllers processing simultaneous LDAP over TLS decryption requests.
  • Security ID Lookup: Changes for a more accurate error return during security ID (SID) lookups involving read-only domain controllers.
  • Token Leaks in LSASS: Resolved token leak issues in LSASS affecting devices with updates from June 14, 2022, or later, during specific S4U operations in a non-TCB Windows service running as Network Service. These updates bring enhanced system reliability, performance, and security improvements that should significantly benefit administrative tasks and user experiences alike.
