Introduction​

Microsoft has introduced Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 23541 in the Dev Channel, unveiling various changes, improvements, and fixes to enhance user experience and performance.

Highlights​

  • Rich Thumbnail Previews: Cloud files under Recommended on the Start menu now offer rich thumbnail previews; the ability to right-click and share these files is temporarily missing for some Insiders in the Dev Channel.
  • Taskbar Enhancements: Issues related to dragging app icons in the taskbar and tooltip inconsistencies while mousing over the search box have been addressed to improve overall stability and usability.
  • Windows Copilot: Windows Copilot Preview issues have been identified and are being resolved to enable the smooth functioning of this feature across regions.

Known Issues​

  • Desktop icons may display as generic white pages instead of the proper icons, and progression wheel icons might get stuck in the File Explorer tab.
  • Changing sort order of folders may not persist, and PWA apps installed via Microsoft Edge might be incorrectly labeled as system components in the Start menu.
  • A high-hitting tabtip.exe crash impacting typing ability and unresolved language support issues have been acknowledged and are being rectified.
