Recently my computer has been freezing or locking up to where everything cant be moved and i have to hard shutdown or press the reset button. This only happens when i am media sharing with my xbox 360 and ps3. I dont run media center for it i only share my folders with windows media player for streaming. I have no clue why this happens and it will randomly occur at different times. Sometimes it will freeze after a minute, other times it will go for 3 hours without freezing then out of nowhere it does.

Has anyone else experienced this problem or have any way to help me out.

I have run the power usage troublershooter and set it back to my liking after that didnt fix anything.
My drivers are working fine and there are no yellow question marks.

I would appreciate any help.

It sounds like you are encountering issues with freezing or locking up when media sharing with your Xbox 360 and PS3. This problem seems to be random and can occur at different times, sometimes after a short period and other times after hours of streaming. Here are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot and possibly resolve this issue: 1. Check Network Connection: Ensure that your network connection is stable and that there are no issues with bandwidth or latency that could be causing the freezing. 2. Update Network Drivers: Update the drivers for your network adapter to the latest version to ensure compatibility and stability during media sharing. 3. Disable Power Saving Features: Sometimes power-saving settings can...

Update Network Drivers: Update the drivers for your network adapter to the latest version to ensure compatibility and stability during media sharing. 3. Disable Power Saving Features: Sometimes power-saving settings can interfere with streaming. Try disabling power-saving features temporarily to see if it makes any difference. 4. Check Firewall Settings: Make sure that your firewall settings are not blocking the connection between your PC and the Xbox 360/PS3. Adjust firewall settings if necessary to allow smooth communication. 5. Update Firmware: Ensure that the firmware on your Xbox 360 and PS3 is up to date. Sometimes outdated firmware can cause compatibility issues. 6. Monitor System Resources: Use Task Manager to monitor system resources while streaming to see if any specific process or resource is causing the freeze. 7. Check Event Viewer: Check the Windows Event Viewer for any error logs or warnings that might provide clues as to why the system is freezing. 8. Temporarily Disable Sharing: Try temporarily disabling media sharing and see if the freezing issue persists. This can help determine if the issue is related to the streaming process. If you continue to experience the freezing issue after trying these steps, it might be helpful to gather more information about the system's behavior during the freezes. You could also consider reaching out to Microsoft support or forums for further assistance. Let me know if you need more detailed guidance on any of these steps or if you need further assistance with troubleshooting this issue.
