Greetings,

I have a Belkin PCI Express Docking station for my laptop (DELL M1210). I'm currently running the new RC for windows 7 (Build 7100), and everything is great with the exception that the video adapter in the docking station (which I use for dual monitor support, extended mode, on my laptop) does not appear in the "Screen Resolution" pane.

The Belkin video adapter appears in the device manager, and by using the Belkin config utility I can Activate the second display, but until I can see the adapter in the "Screen Resolution" pane, there does not appear to be any means of adjusting the monitor positions with respect to one another (screen 2 is to the left of screen 1 for example).

Any thoughts?

Thanks!

    []Check Display Settings:
    • Sometimes, Windows might not automatically detect additional monitors. You can try to manually detect the displays in Windows:
      • Right-click on the desktop and select "Screen resolution".
      • Click on "Detect" to let Windows search for connected displays.
    [
    ]Adjust Display Settings:
    • Once both monitors are detected, you can adjust their position and orientation in the "Screen Resolution" settings:
      • In the "Screen Resolution" pane, you should see both monitors.
      • Drag and drop the monitors to arrange them according to their physical placement.
    []Check Display Adapter Settings:
    • Ensure that the Belkin video adapter settings are correctly configured:
      • Check the Belkin configuration utility for any settings related to monitor orientation or positioning.
    [
    ]Restart and Reconnect:
    • Sometimes, a simple restart of the system or reconnecting the docking station can help in refreshing the connection.
    []Disable/Re-enable the Video Adapter:
    • In the Device Manager, try disabling and then re-enabling the Belkin video adapter to see if it triggers a recognition in the "Screen Resolution" settings.
    [
    ]Check for Windows Updates:
    • Ensure that your Windows 7 system is up to date with the latest updates and patches. Sometimes, updates can include fixes for such issues.
  2. Test with Different Cables/Ports:
    • Test the connection with different cables or ports to rule out any hardware issues. By following these steps, you should be able to configure the dual monitor support on your Windows 7 system using the Belkin PCI Express Docking station. If the issue persists, let me know, and we can explore further solutions.
