It seems like you're experiencing slow boot times after upgrading your hard disk on your Asus N82 notebook. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the slow startup issue:

Steps to Troubleshoot Slow Startup Issue:

  1. Check Disk Health:
    • Ensure that the new 320GB 7200rpm hard drive is functioning correctly. You can use tools like CrystalDiskInfo to check the health status of your hard drive.
    []Update Drivers:
    • Make sure all your drivers, especially the chipset and storage device drivers, are up-to-date. Outdated drivers can sometimes cause slow boot times.

    ]BIOS Configuration:
    • Check your BIOS settings to make sure the drive is detected correctly and that the settings are optimal for performance.
    []Check for Background Programs:
    • Disable unnecessary startup programs that may be slowing down your boot process. You can use Task Manager to manage startup items.
    [
    ]Enable AHCI Mode:
    • Ensure that your BIOS is set to AHCI mode for the SATA controller. This setting can improve performance.
    []Check for Malware:
    • Run a full system scan with a reliable antivirus program to check for any malware that might be affecting the boot process.
    [
    ]Use Windows Performance Tools:
    • You can use tools like Event Viewer in Windows to check for any errors during the boot process. Look for any warning or error messages that might indicate what is causing the delay.

      Reviewing the ntbtlog:

If you can provide the contents of the ntbtlog, I can help you analyze it to pinpoint any specific issues that are causing the slow startup. Feel free to share the details from the ntbtlog file, and I'll assist you further in troubleshooting this startup problem. Let me know if you need any assistance with retrieving or interpreting the ntbtlog information.
