This seems really strange to me and would like to tell the group what has gone on with my system for the last day or so.
I set up a home group over the weekend and some where along the way, I lost access my VPN at work. I tried different computers and different OS's Vista Ultimate, XP Pro, 2000 Server and 7. Not sure how but the routers PPTP settings were turned to off. I know I did not go in there and do it. Took a little detective work but I figured it out.

Second issue is the network icon on the lower right on the task bar shows Network No Internet Access, alas I am on the internet as we speak on the very PC that says I do not have a connection.

Issue 2: Network Icon Shows No Internet Access

  3. Check Internet Connectivity:
    • Even though the network icon shows "No Internet Access," you're still able to browse the internet. This could be a false indication due to a network misconfiguration or a glitch.
    • Confirm the internet connection by visiting different websites and checking if everything is working as expected.
  4. Troubleshooting:
    • Restart your computer to see if the network icon status updates correctly.
    • Reset the network connection by disabling and re-enabling the network adapter.
    • Run the network troubleshooter built into Windows to diagnose and fix any issues.
    • Check for any recent Windows updates or driver updates that might have caused the issue. If these steps don't resolve the problems, you may need to perform more in-depth troubleshooting or seek assistance from your IT department or a tech support professional. It's also essential to ensure your systems are up to date with the latest software updates and security patches to prevent future issues.
