I was surprised that inspite of having an advanced version of the Windows Media Player, the playback speed increment feature of the previous versions has not been included in the same spirit. Sure you can depress Ctrl+Shift+G but that increases the play speed to a meagre 1.4X. The previous version which I used in Vista had a slider which allowed me to increase the playback speed in excess of 2X.
I have also tried to install the previous version of Windows Media Player but the Windows 7 OS dis-allows such a "downgrade". If you know any solution to this problem please let me know.
